Watercolours & Sketchbooks

Laura hadn't pursued watercolour for some time but during lockdown began to rediscover the medium.

As the materials are light and easily carried she went out with her sketchbook and paints, and during her daily exercise (once loitering was permitted) found quiet corners for painting and drawing the which helped her through a difficult time.

Never a purist though, Laura usually mixes in some gouache, oil pastel, pencil; or sometimes even a bit of soil from the ground!

Some sketches are the basis for slightly larger Devon landscape paintings in the studio.
